The Nimble agent skill teaches coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor how to build with the Nimble API. It covers writing questions, choosing a model, handling errors and retries, and acting on the probabilities, and it sends the agent to these docs for current details.

Installation

Run these two commands in your terminal:
On Claude Code 2.1.275 or later, one command does both steps:
Use one installation method, so your agent doesn’t load two copies of the skill. You can also read SKILL.md on GitHub, or copy the skill folder into your agent’s skills directory yourself.

Updates

For the Claude Code plugin, run:
Then restart Claude Code. If you installed with skills.sh, run npx skills update nimble.

Example prompts

Mention the skill in your prompt, e.g., “using the Nimble skill”, so that any agent loads it. In Claude Code, you can also run /nimble:nimble. Find places where Nimble could replace fragile code:
Build a feature:
Tune the questions with real requests. Create an API key, export it as BESPOKE_API_KEY, and let your agent run small tests:

Common issues

The agent doesn’t use the skill

In Claude Code, run /nimble:nimble. In other agents, ask the agent to use the Nimble skill. If it still doesn’t load, check that you installed the skill for the agent you’re using, and restart the agent.

The agent invents request or response fields

The installed skill may be out of date. Update it and try again.

Check the questions and thresholds first. Make the question and the option descriptions more specific, and set thresholds using examples whose answers you know. Question types shows how to write each type of question.
